History

I don't have any more debt, but Ms. Rachel keeps coming after me. It's scary.

—  Cedric

Cedric was a young man who was born carrying the Godspeed Rune, which gave him the gift of incredible speed. He was a little timid but overall the bearer of a pure heart, putting up a brave front in order to use his skills to help people. His naivety angered many as he did not know that potch was needed to eat in restaurants, earning him a reputation for dining and dashing. Because of this habit, Rachel would be called in to collect on his debts.

During the Island Liberation War, he would caught in the act after he ran aboard the hidden Headquarters Ship and would join the group in order to pay off his debt. However, it is said that after the war, he would continue to run out on his meals in order to get Rachel to chase him.

Indeed, Kyril was later hired by a restaurant in Merseto to to help Rachel in catching Cedric again after he did not pay his 5000 potch for his meals. After he is caught, Kyril promises to pay his debts if he helps him in his cause. Cedric gladly agrees and joins his group together with Rachel. The two of them are often seen discussing, but also show signs of a deeper relationship.

Trivia

  • In Suikoden IV, Cedric refers to his rune as the True Holy Rune, the same localization used in the first Suikoden.
  • He does not wear any unique rune in Suikoden Tactics, but possesses a unique skill which is called True Godspeed, partly fixing the localization error.
