The seat of government for the [[Holy Empire of Ionia]] and its Holy Emperor [[Renefarious]], the Yggdrasilian Palace is located at the center of the [[Holy City of Thaksis]].

[[Hero (Genso Suikoden Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki)|The hero]], [[Myra]], and [[Ilia Barcai]] first met Holy Emperor Renefarious at the Yggdrasilian Palace following their encounter with the centennial monsters. Renefarious took their report with all due seriousness, having his subordinates begin preparations to defend against the monsters, the [[Teras Pharma]]. He would also arrange for a duel between the hero and [[Machia Zaphir]], wishing to witness two [[Blue Flash Style]] practioners in contest.

In the deepest reaches of the Yggdrasilian Palace there also lay the first [[Era Tree]]. Unique in that it allowed travel 300 years back to [[Holy Imperial calendar|HIY]] 0, this tree also gave Renefarious his extended lifespan. At the end of the HIY 300 Teras Pharma conflict, the Company would breach the palace, eventually making their way to the Era Tree and confronting Renefarious.

There, Renefarious would use the Era Tree to transform into a [[Holy Emperor Renefarious|great beast]] but was nevertheless defeated. In the aftermath of his fall, the Yggdrasilian Palace would be visited by many researchers hoping to gleam suppressed knowledge from the works within. It would also remain the seat of power of the provisional Ionian government led by [[Quinelia Liuis]].
