Tsuchiya was born into a family with connections to the entertainment industry; his second eldest sister is actress Tsuchiya Tao, and his eldest sister is former Miss Japan 2019, Tsuchiya Enka.<ref>[https://www.oricon.co.jp/news/2130549/full/ Oricon.co.jp]</ref> His given name, "Shinba," is derived from the name of the main character in the Disney animated film ''The Lion King''.<ref>[https://www.famitsu.com/news/202105/13219866.html Famitsu.com]</ref>
