== Career ==
Sakiyama joined Konami by the early 2000s and held various roles on multiple projects. His first directorial credit was on the Game Boy Advance shooter ''Silent Scope'' (2002).<ref name="MobyGames">[https://www.mobygames.com/person/394620/takahiro-sakiyama/ Takahiro Sakiyama game credits], MobyGames, retrieved 2025.</ref> He later moved into console RPG development; in 2006 he directed the PlayStation 2 game ''[[Suikoden V]]''.<ref name="MobyGames" /> In addition to directing ''Suikoden V'', Sakiyama provided the Japanese voice for the character [[Norden]] in that game. In 2008 he served as lead planner on the Nintendo DS title ''[[Suikoden Tierkreis]]''.<ref name="MobyGames" />

Over time, Sakiyama became the principal steward of the ''Suikoden'' intellectual property. He is listed as the series’ IP and game director, overseeing the franchise’s direction.<ref name="Famitsu2025" /><ref name="Dengeki2025" /> He led the development of the ''[[Suikoden I&II HD Remaster]]'' (released March 2025) and has been involved in the new mobile game ''[[Suikoden STAR LEAP]]''. In these projects he supervised the preservation and updating of classic Suikoden content for modern platforms.
